What are the powertrain options for the 2022 Ram 2500?
Most heavy duty-truck drivers choose a heavy-duty truck for its power, so that is where we’ll begin. The 2022 Ram 2500 comes standard with a 6.4L HEMI V8 engine with 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. This provides drivers with the ability to haul up to 17,540 pounds. Furthermore, the standard V8 engine also offers impressive fuel efficiency by employing cylinder deactivation. This technology electronically deactivates four of the engine’s cylinders when decelerating or coasting to save fuel. The cylinders will seamlessly be re-engaged when more power is needed. The Ram 2500 wouldn’t be a heavy-duty truck without an available diesel option. This option is a 6.2L Cummins TurboDiesel Inline-6 cylinder engine.
